Academics are working with a fantastic mainstream Primary School in Havering who are seeking a passionate and driven SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a young pupil in year 1 with Autism. This is a highly reputable school with a well-organised and supportive senior leadership team who are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. The SEN Learning Support Assistant will play a crucial role in the ongoing development, education, and training for children who require targeted support.
Duties and Responsibilities of the SEN Learning Support Assistant
1. Provide specialist support to young children with Special Educational Needs under the direction of the SENCO.
2. Assist pupils with their learning and development, both in and out of the classroom.
3. Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure each child's individual needs are met.
4. Report on pupil progress and report back to the class teacher and SENCO.
5. Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social, emotional, and academic growth.
6. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
