The Role
As an Assistant Contract Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Working closely with the Contract Manager, site teams, and clients, you’ll help manage operations, coordinate resources, and drive performance across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in the planning, management, and delivery of groundworks and civil engineering projects
2. Support contract administration, including cost tracking and progress reporting
3. Work closely with site teams to ensure health & safety, quality, and environmental standards are met
4. Coordinate materials, subcontractors, and labour to ensure efficient project execution
5. Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management and clients
6. Assist in resolving any site or contractual issues to maintain smooth project delivery
7. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
1. Experience in groundworks, civil engineering, or construction project management
2. Strong organisational and communication skills
3. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively
4. Knowledge of health & safety regulations in the construction industry
5. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office
6. A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail
7. Full UK driving licence
