Our client, a national leader in the retail sector are looking for a National Catering Manager to join their team in a field based capacity. In this role you will oversee the day-to-day catering operations for tourist destination sites across the UK. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional who can drive the strategy behind catering proposition and elevate service. You will be responsible for 12 sites UK wide, 7 of which are located in Scotland, 3 in Wales and 2 in England.
Job responsibilities
1. Develop and manage a commercially strong product offering with a focus on maximizing sales and margins.
2. Oversee the supply chain, including contract negotiations and management to ensure a seamless supply of goods.
3. Ensure operations run smoothly and in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Monitoring performance of each site and developing and implementing timely action plans to enhance performance across your area of responsibility.
4. Directly drive profitability through strategic operational management.
5. Lead and manage Food Service Managers (FSMs) on a national level, providing guidance and support to achieve company goals.
6. Implement and promote Health and Safety initiatives, guarantee your team is well-informed and adheres to Food Policies, including considerations for cultural, religious, and ethnic requirements, as well as allergies and special diets.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
7. Experience within a similar role, catering operations manager or a national role
8. Understanding of catering operations and compliance standards
9. Proven experience in maximizing sales and managing margins
10. Experience in liaising with supply chain and contract negotiation skills
11. Previously managed a team - this role will have around 10-12 direct reports
12. Previous experience of managing multi-site catering, minimum 10 sites
13. Highly organised and a great communicator
14. Trained to Intermediate Food Hygiene level
15. Full driving licence
16. Comfortable with a field based role – visiting sites across the UK
