An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Burns team for a motivated Nursing Associate to join our friendly, dynamic team. Our priority is to offer the best standards of holistic care for our patients recovering from a burns injury. The burns ward at QVH is a regional referral unit for patients who have sustained both major and minor burns injuries and includes 6 ward level beds, Burns Outpatients Department, Burns theatre and a 2 bedded rehabilitation unit.
Experience in burns management is not necessary as full training will be given.
Main duties of the job
* Carry out a full range of delegated duties, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s condition and care with support from the registered nurse.
* Work within the scope of practice of the nursing associate role to understand the level of complexity of patient care to be undertaken.
* Maintain the privacy and dignity of all patients whilst adhering to Trust and department policies, reporting any concerns to a registered nurse.
* Work without direct supervision once key learning outcomes of the induction or preceptorship programme have been completed.
* Prioritise nursing care and recognise deterioration in a patient’s condition and alert senior staff immediately.
* Maintain accurate, legible and timely written and electronic records of care.
* Use effective communication, written and verbal with all levels of staff including the multidisciplinary team, patients and relatives.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse Associate
Experience
* Competent in basic wound and asepsis management
* Experience in a hospital or equivalent care setting
* Working within a multidisciplinary team
Skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
