The Bladder and Bowel Service provides a specialist nursing assessment, treatment and management service for those individuals experiencing bladder and bowel incontinence and chronic bladder and bowel conditions from the age of 4 years old.
The service works closely with other community nursing disciplines and nursing and residential care homes in providing assessment and treatment for children and adults. The service works with Urology, Urogynaecology, Paediatrics, Colorectal Services and other health care professionals. The Bladder and Bowel Service is provided for the residents of East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen who are registered with a local GP Practitioner
The post holder will work as a member of the Bladder and Bowel Administration team, providing an efficient, effective, and comprehensive administration services, including audiotyping, reception, telephone, and appointment booking service, using EMIS and other electronic systems, for the patients, the public, all other departments, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the service for colleagues, patients, and service users alike. The post holder will work predominantly with the Children and Young People’s clinical team although on occasions may be required to support the wider administration team.

To provide a well rounded administrative and clerical support to the Team. Organising, attending and minuting meetings. Carrying out audio typng, meeting and greeting patients, registering patients on the electronic patient administration system and using the system to book appointment and follow ups.
Receiving and prioritising all incoming communications, ensuring all queries are dealt with quickly and appropriately.
Being the first point of contact for patients and visitors always acting in a professional manner.
Assisting with the smooth running of the department liaising with clinical staff both within and without the service as required
Any other appropriate duty as requested by the Clinical / Admin Team Leads

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* GCSE in English and Maths at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
* NVQ 3 / RSA II or equivalent qualification in relevant subject
* ECDL or equivalent IT qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
* Significant and recent experience in a similar role undertaking secretarial / administrative and reception duties
* Ability take notes of meetings and create good quality minutes
* Experience of managing own workload and office systems
* Experience of dealing with the public
Desirable criteria
* Experience of working within the NHS
* Knowledge and Experience of EMIS
