Established in 2011, The Rocksalt Group is an independently owned and award-winning group of restaurants and pubs located across the South Coast of Kent. The operation includes flagship restaurant Rocksalt, which has held 2 AA rosettes for 12 consecutive years, plus its sister fish restaurant Little Rock and Pilot beach bar located just a short walk away in Folkestone Harbour. The Rocksalt Group also owns a group of highly regarded pubs under The Pickled Egg Pub Company. Executive Group Chef Marcin Szelag, who has worked for the group since Rocksalt first opened its doors over 12 years ago, now leads a strong team of talented chefs across all venues and oversees the operation and delivery of all menus across the group. With a key focus on locally sourced, seasonal produce from highly regarded local suppliers, Marcin plays a pivotal role in the success of all venues.
Along with The Duke William, The Pickled Egg Pub Company owns and operates 3 other sites across Kent. These include The Radnor Arms, a recently renovated Victorian pub in the Old Bouverie district of Folkestone, The Woolpack, a beautiful 16th-century inn nestled in the peacefully picturesque village of Warehorne, and The Five Bells, a stunning 16th-century inn overlooking the rolling hills of the North Downs in East Brabourne.

About You
Set in the heart of the Garden of England, the Duke boasts four guest rooms, a traditional roaring fire in the heart of the pub for the winter, and a beautiful terrace and garden for the summer, both complemented by constantly evolving food and drink menus created using the superb local and seasonal produce the surrounding area has to offer. The Duke is also starting to gather a great reputation for hosting private hire events including wedding receptions during the summer months. Located just ten minutes outside the historic City of Canterbury, the pub has been listed in The Times 30 Best Pubs for Summer, The Sunday Times 50 Best Value Hotels in The UK, and listed in the Michelin Guide. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team under the long-serving management of Head Chef Joe Hawkes, who has worked for us for over 5 years, starting his career with us at Rocksalt before taking over as Head Chef at The Duke. Our General Manager Hugh Rowberry is used to running London pubs and has a wealth of knowledge in this area, having introduced a variety of events for the local community such as Live Music and Quiz Nights, which are always popular monthly events for the locals.
We are currently recruiting for a Chambermaid/Cleaner on a part-time basis. Experience is preferred but not essential as full training can be given.
