Job Description:
University students, are you interested in school work? Are you studying at a university in Bristol or UWE? Are you finding that you need part-time work to support your studies? Perhaps you are taking a course that involves working with children, and doing school work would be relevant. Or your university year is wrapping up, and you want some work to keep you busy in the summer months of June and July? Whatever the motivation, get in touch if school work is of interest to you.
You will need to have an interest in supporting children, especially those considered to be vulnerable. Students whose studies would benefit from work supporting in school tend to make good placements, i.e., childhood studies. You will need to be able to build good bonds and help with their social development as well as their learning journey. Professional boundaries are important, so the right candidates will be able to be firm on expectations from children and ensure they are doing their best to meet learning objectives.
Work is available in primary, secondary, and SEN schools, providing ample opportunity to help and gain work across Bristol. Hours typically are 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, and the days you work depend on your availability.
In order to work with children, you will need to have a UK DBS on the update service. If you are an overseas student, you will need to hold a police check from your country of origin.
If you are interested, please contact Lee Harris at 0117 4722400 | Ext: 2006 and click on the apply button.
If you are not interested in this role but know someone else who might be, don't forget that we offer £150 in shopping vouchers if you refer a friend to us and we place them in the job. For more details, contact your local Axcis office.
This is a temporary position unless stated otherwise.
Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and does not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race, or any other equal opportunities criteria.
The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You will be required to provide an up-to-date DBS or allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, in addition to other mandatory compliance checks in line with DfE guidelines (for details, please see our website).
