Omega are supporting an industry-leader with their search for a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer with an electronic bias to join their team. In this essential role, the right candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality of externally sourced PCBA's. When faults are identified in received PCBA's, the Quality Engineer will lead thorough investigations, identify the root cause, and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications. A proactive approach will be instrumental in maintaining the highest quality in all components, playing a vital role in the ongoing success and reliability of cutting-edge technologies.
Responsibilities:
* Lead investigations into non-conformance reports (NCRs) when quality issues or faults are found in received PCBA, conducting thorough analyses to identify root causes and collaborating with suppliers to resolve issues.
* Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions based on findings from NCR investigations. Follow up to ensure actions are effectively executed, preventing recurrence.
* Collaborate closely with suppliers and external manufacturers to communicate quality concerns, drive improvements, and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
* Act as a liaison between internal teams and external partners, facilitating prompt issue resolution and ensuring alignment on quality standards.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of investigations, actions taken, and findings, ensuring accuracy for audits, traceability, and continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and specifications, playing a key role in maintaining the highest product quality throughout the production process.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality engineering role, specifically with external suppliers of PCBA or in the electronics industry.
* Experience in quality control, inspections, and troubleshooting of PCBAs is essential.
* Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, operations and suppliers, to address product quality issues and drive resolution.
* Proficient in using electronic diagnostic equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
* Knowledge of PCB design and assembly processes would be advantageous but not a necessity.
* Familiarity with relevant electronic standards such as IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, UL standards.
* Proficiency in documenting quality-related activities, investigations, and outcomes.
* Ability to prepare clear and concise reports to communicate findings, trends, and improvement recommendations.

Hours: Monday - Thursday: 08:00-16:30 (or 07:30-16:00) / Friday: 08:00-15:00 (or 07:30-14:30).
