If you are a reliable individual with initiative and a positive approach to work as a team player within a friendly team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated person to work for the Breast Screening Unit, predominantly working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital but also covering other satellite units. We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, well-motivated and flexible individual. This would be a fantastic development opportunity for the right person. The post is ideal for someone who can work independently and enjoys being part of a team, and is able to manage their own workload by prioritising tasks accordingly. You must have good communication and organisational skills and be able to adapt to developing service needs. Main duties of the job
The post holder would be part of a multi-disciplinary team taking a patient-centered approach to delivery a high standard of care. The post holder would be expected to:
1. Assist and support professionals from the multi-disciplinary team with agreed clinical and administrative activities.
2. Have the ability to concentrate and manage multiple tasks within a busy environment, i.e., managing interruptions and queries.
3. Adhere to good practice and Trust policy when assessing and implementing manual handling techniques.
4. Plan ahead in the preparation of examination rooms when assisting during varied work lists.
5. Use initiative to maintain workflow and ensure minimum waiting times, liaising with senior staff if problems/potential problems arise.
6. Assist the Qualified Professionals during examinations and procedures.
7. Ensure all areas and equipment are kept clean and tidy in accordance with Trust infection control policy.
8. Perform and record daily checks of emergency equipment e.g., crash trolley and suction.
9. Assist with the aftercare of the patient including removal of IV cannula.
10. Safely handle body fluids as stated in Trust policy.
11. Accurately document episodes of care as appropriate.
12. Restock clinical rooms, ensuring rotation of stock within stock room and clinical rooms, including monitoring of expiry dates.
