The Role:
Parico is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer who is smart, curious and prospers against the challenge of working closely with a small business to solve complex and challenging problems across the Public Sector landscape. You’ll have the freedoms to be truly innovative to roll up your sleeves, get stuck into the detail of systems, and generally do what it takes to achieve incredible technical solutions to our customer’s complex problems.
You will be part of a team developing greenfield systems and services for our clients, using cloud services and on-premise infrastructure components. You will build and maintain an extensive portfolio of Windows and Linux technologies, related storage, server platforms and integrated management software. You will be responsible for securely managing and monitoring services, ensuring we deliver a seamless environment and experience for all our clients.
Responsibilities include:
* Work closely within our close knit, technical team, including Infrastructure Architects and our Chief Technology Office, on the design and development of greenfield services.
* Oversee and execute routine configuration modifications within both internal and client-facing systems, ensuring seamless operation.
* Enhance infrastructure stability and efficiency by providing expert 2nd, 3rd, and 4th line support, contributing to improved system performance and availability.
* Actively participate in the evaluation and verification of new system and software releases, ensuring optimal integration and functionality.
* Meticulously maintain asset management records, fostering efficient and accurate asset management processes.
* Understanding of how solutions fit into the broader IT ecosystem, including integration of authentication, and directory services with other platforms.
* Create easy-to-understand technical documents that communicate complex information clearly.
* Demonstrable expertise in supporting and implementing infrastructure components for the following Windows, Linux and Virtualization technologies:
-Windows Server 2019/2022
* Active Directory and NTFS permissions
* DNS
* DHCP
* File Services
* Group Policy, CIS and NCSC Security Hardening
* NTP
* SQL Server
* Windows Server Update Server (WSUS)
-Cloud
* AWS
* VMware vSphere
* VMware vCentre
* Microsoft Hyper-V
Our Ideal Candidate:
* Constructing Windows and Linux infrastructure components for greenfield system builds and/or application upgrades.
* Knowledge of Cloud Virtualization technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP etc).
* Excellent problem-solving skills and comfortable taking on new challenges.
* Demonstrable experience of working with Enterprise Systems, Platforms and Networks within both a datacentre environment and a cloud environment.
* Working as part of an Agile development team.
* Experience working with DevOps tools including Jira and Confluence.
* Demonstrable sector knowledge or experience within UK Defence (Army, Air force or Royal Navy).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to hold a minimum of UK Security Clearance (SC).
* Hold a UK Driving Licence and have a willingness to travel to client sites.
Essential Qualifications:
* A Windows Server certification such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or equivalent.
* Redhat System Administration or similar.
* VMware Certified Associate or similar.
