About the Role:
As our Estates and Facilities Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the College's premises. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive security, caretaking, estates, and facilities management service, contributing to a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide security services, including monitoring CCTV, responding to alarms, and conducting regular patrols.
* Perform caretaking duties, such as general cleaning, waste management, and ensuring the premises are presentable.
* Conduct routine building maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
* Manage and coordinate external contractors for specialist maintenance work.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety procedures.
* Respond to and resolve maintenance requests and emergencies promptly.
* Assist with the setup and take down of equipment and furniture for events and activities.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections.
* Provide a professional and courteous service to students, staff, and visitors.
Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience working in an education setting (e.g., school, college, university).
* Demonstrable experience in building maintenance and repair work.
* A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate and registration with the DBS Update Service.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
* A proactive and flexible approach to work.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Basic IT skills.
Desirable Skills:
* Relevant qualifications in building maintenance or facilities management.
* Experience in managing security systems.
* First Aid certification.
