Job Overview:
Peterborough City Council is seeking a highly motivated Social Worker to join our team, working with 12-18 year olds who may be at risk of homelessness or care, victims of abuse, or experiencing difficulties within their family or community environment.
This role involves providing support and guidance to young people and their families, assessing and managing safeguarding risks, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
* To assess and manage safeguarding risks to young people, identifying areas of concern and developing strategies to mitigate these risks
* To work collaboratively with other professionals to provide support and guidance to young people and their families
* To maintain accurate records and contribute to policy development related to safeguarding practices
* To participate in training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in safeguarding practices
Requirements:
A sound understanding of safeguarding risks outside the home and experience in supporting vulnerable young people is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other agencies are also required.
Salary Range: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
