An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Finance department for a Financial Modeller to join us and be based out of our operation in the London Gateway Port. Our successful candidate will report into the commercial development director and work closely with the UK CFO to prepare financial models and assist with business decision making on new, strategic, business proposals across DPW UK for London Gateway and Southampton. To partner and collaborate with a range of stakeholders to add value through research and financial analysis. To prepare forecasts to assist with DP World UK's financial planning such as ‘what if’ scenarios. Provide value adding recommendations and insights to aid strategic business decisions.
The UK Finance Project Modeller and Analyst will possess a deep understanding of financial principles, modelling techniques and proven track record of delivering high quality financial analysis.
Location: Stanford le hope, with occasional travel to Southampton
Hours: Hybrid remote, 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
About the Role
How you will contribute:
Financial Modelling:
1. Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
2. Create robust, dynamic and scalable financial models integrating critical business drivers, assumptions and advanced scenario analyses.
3. Execute in-depth analysis and interpretation of financial outcomes, identifying pertinent trends and furnishing strategic insights to fortify organizational planning.
4. Review Financial models built by internal and external clients, ensuring technical excellence and provide feedback and guidance.
5. Understand the results of models and act as a strategic partner with stakeholders to provide meaningful dialogue about the implications.
6. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors, earning their trust and confidence as a subject matter expert in financial modelling and analysis.
7. Prepare model specifications and user guides.
8. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in financial modelling to ensure continual improvement.
Data Analysis:
1. Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to evaluate business performance and identify areas for improvement and pinpoint avenues for optimization.
2. Analyze results and help form conclusions for new projects.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights for comprehensive analysis.
Reporting and Presentation:
1. Produce presentations to present findings ensuring complex financial information is presented in a clear and concise manner for the relevant stakeholders.
2. Assist with the preparation of executive-level presentations and reports.
3. Design and deliver new reports for finance, commercial & supply chain teams to enhance business partnering capabilities.
4. Assist in reporting against KPIs.
5. Financial reporting to cover covenant reporting to lenders.
Finance:
1. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support for ongoing projects and initiatives. This includes supporting London Regional Office with business development plans and financial modelling.
2. Attend external stakeholder meetings and support with commercial discussions.
3. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards.
Risk Management:
1. Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
2. Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact financial performance.
What you will bring:
Qualifications:
1. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Experience:
1. Proven and extensive experience in financial analysis and project management / Project Accounting or similar modelling team.
2. Strong proficiency in data analysis and financial modelling to design, build and maintain models.
3. Experience building and maintaining effective relationships and managing diverse stakeholders within a large organisation.
4. Good knowledge of financial statements such as P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow and working capital.
Skills:
