An exciting opportunity has become available for a Distribution & Dispensary (Pharmacy) Technician to join our established Distribution team at Sandwell HUB, Oldbury.
The successful applicant will provide a range of stores control in/out, portering, driving, mail/package and stock control services for the Trust.
Applicants must hold a Pharmacy Technician qualification (certificate in Ambulance Pharmacy Technician) equivalent to NVQ Level 3 as well as holding a current Forklift Driving Licence along with experience of working within a similar stores / driving role.
Main Duties of the Job
The Stores Person / Driver (SPD) will carry out such stores/driving duties as directed by the Head of Purchasing & Contracts.
1. Responsible for the accurate picking of orders for Locations/HUBs & department collecting, sorting of mail, packages and stores for all designated locations, including drugs and medicines.
2. Duties will be divided between the Central Distribution Stores and on the road, deliveries as required by the Trust.
3. Responsible for the receipt / storage / issue of all stores into the Central Distribution Centre (including entering onto appropriate databases and the correct use of a hand-held scanner or computer system).
4. Responsible for the collection and delivery of stores, equipment, drugs, mail from designated locations throughout the Trusts area.
5. Responsible for the safe collection and delivery of Trust assets and movement around the Trust.
6. Responsible for the safe collection and delivery of items of uniform.
7. Responsible for the driver maintenance of vehicle, i.e. check of lubricants, coolants, lights, indicators, brakes, windscreen wipers / washers, horn, tyres, refuelling, etc.
8. Responsible for the maintenance of the interior and exterior of the vehicle in a clean condition, ensuring the serviceability of vehicle equipment.
9. Responsible for the security of the vehicle and or stores and its contents at all times.
10. Work in accordance with all Trust policies and procedures, necessary to ensure that the service complies with the requirements of the Quality Management Systems, Health & Safety at Work Policy and Procedures within the Code of Practice and GDPR.
Person Specification
Skills and Knowledge
* Handling and delivery of goods.
* Basic driver vehicle maintenance carrying out pre-operative vehicle checks daily.
* IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
* Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
Qualifications
* Basic Literacy and Numeracy skills.
* Qualification in Pharmacy technician (Certificate in Ambulance Pharmacy Technician), equivalent to an NVQ Level 3.
* Buttercups Medicine Management training.
* Reach Forklift Driving licence.
* Willing to undertake any training deemed necessary for the post.
Experience
* Experience of working in a similar stores/ driving role.
* Experience of manual handling tasks.
* Experience of operating a reach or counter balance fork lift truck.
* Experience in handling of drugs and medicines.
