The Receptionist reports to the Executive Director and is expected to provide courteous and efficient telephone, reception, and clerical support to all clients and assist with clerical duties in the Home.
Please note this is a temporary part-time position for 8 weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
* Assists in the production and distribution of the Home’s communiqués under the direction of the Administrative/Nursing Assistant/delegate.
* Orders supplies/stationery for all departments.
* May assist with the resident trust accounts.
* Presents a positive approach, not controlling language and actions towards people.
* Assists with the mailing of resident billing.
* Responsible for the completed invoice package for the office purchases.
* Assists with orientation, recruitment, retention.
* Assists with setting the vision, goals, and objectives for the department in collaboration with the team members and in line with the overall Home's vision and strategic directions.
* Motivates team members and establishes incentive programs that recognize excellent performance.
* Required to understand the nature and meaning of quality indicators used by the Home.
* Any and all other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High School graduate or G.E.D.
* Continuing educational courses in areas related to position summary an asset.
* Working knowledge of computers.
* Sense of responsibility, integrity, and confidentiality.
* A minimum of one (1) year prior experience in a similar job capacity.
* Ability to handle multiple incoming telephone lines and multiple tasks.
* Ability to use innovative methods to reduce costs.
* Ability to operate general office equipment (calculator, photocopier, postage meter, fax machine, etc.).
* Well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact efficiently and courteously with residents, public, employees, and volunteers.
* Ability to work from the heart and make others smile.
* Ability to demonstrate care in the use of supplies and equipment, and the ability to maintain a neat work area.
* Good organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Must be level-headed and calm in emergencies.
* Second language is an asset.
* Clear vulnerable sector screening (within last 6 months), recent TB test results (within last 6 months) or Chest X-Ray (within last 1 year), and two supervisory references required.
