Job summary This exciting post offers the opportunity to work in a first class vascular and endovascular service.The appointee will form an integral part of vascular surgical services for the Gloucestershire and Swindon Vascular Network, (with the hub based at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and the two spokes at Cheltenham General Hospital and the Great Western Hospital in Swindon). Main duties of the job In 2014, the Trust centralised all inpatient arterial vascular surgery for the network onto one site and vascular workload has increased since completion of the Network agreement with Swindon (Yielding a population of around 1 million). A wide variety of vascular conditions are treated by the service. We have a state-of-the-art Hybrid theatre and a full range of vascular and endovascular procedures are performed. The post holders will benefit from a substantial existing practice in aortic aneurysm surgery, both EVAR and open, carotid surgery, arterial bypass and reconstructive surgery, and venous intervention (including open surgery, foam sclerotherapy, endothermal ablation as well as acute and chronic deep venous intervention). We are well supported by nearby Tertiary Vascular Units for supra-renal and thoracic aortic work.
