Role Purpose Managing a small technical team, the TSS Manager is responsible for the operation of the Nuaire fan performance test facility. Within the NPI process and in response to technical and commercial demand, the TSS manager produces, interprets, and presents test data and product information relating to the performance of the wide range of Nuaire and Domus mechanical services products. This information is assessed in relation to regulatory and commercial technical requirements. Core areas of responsibility The TSS manager is responsible for :- Ensuring safe and efficient operation of the TSS test facilities within procedural and regulatory requirements. Direct line management of TSS staff including safety and effective work allocation. Engagement and development of TSS staff. Comprehensive understanding and correct application of relevant UK, EU and global test standards – including (but not limited to) - Ventilation Unit and Fan Performance, Noise, Thermal efficiency (e.g. heat exchangers and heat pumps), and Smoke Control. Operation, calibration and maintenance of Test equipment and TSS facility assets. Management and output response of the Test Request system. Collation, Assessment and Validation of test results. Compilation of test results into useful technical data in the appropriate format(s). Advising on and Development of test programmes based on requirements of the Nuaire / Domus NPI / NPD process. Advising on and Development of test programmes based on requirements for client Witness Tests. Provision of detailed technical information relevant to product regulatory compliance. Liaison with 3rd party test and research organisations. Development of a programme of innovative technical research relating to core ventilation products. Capabilities required As a subject matter expert, the essential Qualifications are :- Degree level and practical expertise in :- Fluids, air movement and measurement Acoustics – measurement and application related Laboratory Instrumentation and control systems. (e.g Labview) (Test) Data processing and analysis. (desktop tools and bespoke solutions) Additionally, a sound working knowledge of electrical power systems (motors and drives), thermofluids, and mechanical design would be advantageous. A working knowledge of product related testing - e.g. Electrical Safety, EMC. Is required. Excellent presentation and communication skills are required as the role involves liaison with technical specialists within the business and the wider industry. The TSS manager would be expected to participate in the work and activities of industry trade associations including industry related standards development. Occasional interaction with technical clientele is also required.
