The role:
As a Buyer, you’ll work with a team of experienced Operational and Senior buyers to drive supplier excellence in terms of cost, delivery, and quality of the indirect supply chain servicing the project’s priorities.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for delivering the indirect Procurement strategy for the project, ensuring alignment with Procurement, programme, and non-core tasking activities.
* Responsible for the project’s indirect purchasing strategy, working with and influencing commodity teams, programmes, and key stakeholders
* Accountable to deliver commodity initiatives
* Accountable for supplier contracts and ensuring alignment with wider project activities
* Accountable for flowing down customer programme requirements into supplier contracts
* Responsible for indirect supplier performance in terms of cost, delivery, and quality
Please note that this position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel across a range of internal and customer sites on a weekly/monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Buyer:
* Considerable experience in a commercially focused equivalent role and similar operating model
* Considerable experience in a commercial procurement environment
* Understanding of e-procurement tools and their capability to inform and deliver sourcing strategies
* Category Management or Strategic Sourcing experience across a broad portfolio in relevant market sectors
Qualifications for the Buyer:
* Related degree qualification or CIPS qualified
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
