Job summary The post holder is identified as a highly skilled, senior practitioner with expert knowledge in the area of Trauma and Orthopaedics. The post holder will lead a team of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Technicians to work with the wider MDT both in the hospital and community. They will be highly efficient and organised, responding to patients needs in a timely way to maintain patient flow, prevent deconditioning and reduce hospital delays. The post holder will need to be dynamic and forward thinking and constantly using the evidence base to lead and maintain high standards of care within the team. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to deliver high standards of care, autonomously manage a caseload and effectively manage complex cases. They will contribute to the development of service, lead and manage a team undertaking regular supervisions and appraisals. They will support service re-design and participate in planning, development and evaluation of the service. The post holder will maintain their CPD portfolio to ensure they are constantly working within the evidence base and identify areas for improvement. They will regularly undertake audit, quality and service improvement projects to ensure the Occupational Therapy service is an exemplar of excellent practice.
