Job Description
Element has an opportunity for an EMC Test Engineer with a strong focus on RF wireless testing to join our team in Surrey Hills, Guildford. As a member of the operations team, the primary function of the EMC Test Engineer will be to focus on conducting compliance testing (setup, measure, and document results) on a wide variety of products while interfacing with customers on a daily basis. The most common radio products include, but are not limited to, 802.11 abgn, BT, and Cellular radios.
Candidates must possess an understanding of the following standards: IEC 60601-1-2, ETSI EN 301-489-1, EN 300 328, EN 301 893, ANSI C63.10, RSS-GEN.
Core Responsibilities:
* Conduct a variety of EMC and RF tests, including setting up test equipment and customer equipment, performing testing to applicable standards or test plans, and accurately documenting the testing process and outcomes.
* Understand customer test plans and properly follow laboratory technical procedures and test specifications.
* Setup test equipment and follow written specifications necessary for the proper performance of the test.
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation.
* Accurately observe and record test progress and results. Organize and document data for each assigned project.
* Interact with customers during the testing process and periodically assist with troubleshooting and development modifications.
Key Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in electronics or equivalent electronics testing.
* Minimum of 2-5 years working in Regulatory Compliance with specific in-depth experience in EMC Testing & Certification of Wireless Device Technologies.
* Experience testing devices with wireless capabilities (i.e., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, etc.).
* Knowledge of the radio test standards for Europe.
* Proven ability to use EMC test equipment such as EMI receivers, Anechoic Chambers, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
* Experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Knowledge of basic principles of electrical and electronic theory.
