Based at our Kirkby site, we are looking for an experienced HGV technician. You will be essential in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles to ensure their optimal performance and safety. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will utilize your mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand and power tools to diagnose and resolve vehicle issues. Holding an HGV Licence is crucial for this role, enabling you to work effectively on various vehicle types.
Hours to work would be:
Days 6am to 4pm,
Afternoons 12noon to 10pm,
shift rotation of 3 weeks days and one week afternoons.
Pay to be confirmed upon experience.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles using hand and power tools.
Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
Ensure compliance with safety standards while working on heavy goods vehicles (HGV).
Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
Collaborate with team members to enhance workflow and efficiency.
Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in vehicle technology.
Qualifications
Fully qualified HGV technician
Full mechanical knowledge and expertise in vehicle maintenance and repair.
Proficient in using hand tools and power tools effectively.
Valid HGV Licence is required.
Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair vehicle issues.
Ability to work within specific repair times to ensure maximum productivity
Experience in both skilled mechanical roles is preferred.
