LOCATION: Plymouth
SALARY: Up to £26k, dependent on experience
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day - flexible start times
8.30/8.45/9.00 am - 5.00/5.15/5.30 pm

THE ROLE: The Legal Assistant will provide legal support and assistance within the wills and probate department as and when required, working in partnership with the internal collections department and external solicitors, along with the wider team.
Duties include:
Organising and prioritising the day's work to ensure a prompt start
Typing various documents from audio or copy typing as required
Liaising with clients and other parties in person and over the phone
Managing the line manager's diary and communicating appointments
Taking accurate messages and relaying them appropriately
Providing cover and supporting other departments as required
To provide refreshments for meetings with clients and to clear away afterwards.
Assisting with financial transactions and handling disbursements
Assisting fee earners in creating and updating precedent letters and documents
Acting as a witness on document signatures when needed
Following instructions and advice from the line manager accurately
Familiarising yourself with and adhering to the firm's procedures as outlined in the handbook
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience working within a Legal firm, ideally with an understanding of Wills and Probate.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
Thrive in a fast-paced environment
Able to manage and prioritise work load
A good working knowledge of MS Word, excel, outlook and windows software
