Sellick Partnership is currently looking to appoint a permanent senior strategic procurement manager for our public sector client in Stoke.
Job Summary: Senior Strategic Procurement Manager
* Responsible for the management of strategic Procurement activity and other bespoke procurement / strategic projects
* Effectively lead elements of the Strategic Procurement Team in delivery of all relevant objectives and influencing / managing customers
* To take the corporate lead on identified commercial issues and key commodity areas
* To undertake and lead on specific projects on behalf of the Director / Deputy Director of Procurement
* Deputise as appropriate for the Director / Deputy Director of Procurement
Main responsibilities: Senior Strategic Procurement Manager:
* Effectively lead elements of the Strategic Procurement Team
* To take the corporate lead on identified commercial issues and key commodity areas
* Responsible for providing professional procurement advice on often sensitive commercial issues to Senior Managers
* To manage highly complex negotiations with suppliers
* To be responsible for identifying, promoting and implementing opportunities and initiatives for cost improvements
* To be responsible for setting the strategy for the Strategic management of key suppliers
* Responsible for developing new strategies
* Accountable for evaluating highly complex financial and purchasing data
* Lead on several highly complex procurement projects
Person Specification for the Senior Strategic Procurement Manager:
* Fully CIPs qualified – Desirable but not essential
* Experience in leading complex procurements
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills
* Contract and supplier management experience
* Public Sector experience – Desirable but not essential
