Job summary Due to the merger of Amicus Health and Mid Devon Medical Practice we are seeking a Practice Manager to lead Clare House Surgery, the largest of the newly merged practice sites. This presents an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated leader looking for their next challenge. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate robust leadership and communication skills, be well organised and highly motivated. There will be a strong operational focus to the role, with an emphasis on ensuring the smooth running of Clare House Surgery in its day to day delivery of clinical services. The practice manager is a key member of the team and will be expected to demonstrate leadership qualities, achieving goals and targets using a combination of personal involvement, motivation of other staff and delegation when appropriate. An understanding of current NHS initiatives would be helpful, however the introduction of new ideas and methods from outside the NHS also presents an attractive proposition to the partnership. In addition to adapting the practice to meet the demands of providing high quality patient care, the manager will need to ensure that the practice is financially efficient and compliant with all aspects of health and safety, employment legislation and CQC (Care Quality Commission) registration/compliance. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be responsible for organisational leadership, service improvement and delivery of key targets across the full range of clinical and administrative areas within Clare House Surgery. A high degree of personal organisational skill is required as well as a systematic approach to problem solving and planning. Working alongside the Partners, Group Manager and supported by an excellent management, administrative and clinical team you will be responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the practice.
