A specialist SEN school in Chorley is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with a range of special educational needs in a highly nurturing and well-resourced school environment.
The Role:
1. Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs, including autism and complex learning difficulties.
2. Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
3. Supporting students’ social, emotional, and communication development.
4. Working closely with teachers and therapists to implement individual learning plans.
5. Helping to manage behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Previous experience working with children with SEN (school-based experience preferred).
2. A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs.
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
4. A commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
