Veritas Education work with a variety of primary, secondary, and SEN schools across London and the surrounding areas, providing high-quality teachers and support staff for long-term, short-term, permanent, and daily supply roles. We partner with state, private, and independent schools, building strong, trusted relationships with our clients.
We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistants for schools in North London. The role is full-time, term time only, and to start as soon as possible. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with special educational needs.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working with students with a range of special educational needs, providing tailored support to help them achieve their potential in both academic and personal development. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate and proactive approach, with experience supporting students with SEN in an educational setting.
Responsibilities include:
1. Supporting SEN students on a 1:1 basis
2. Working proactively to help students achieve their attainment levels
3. Encouraging students to engage proactively with their learning
4. Helping to provide a safe environment for children to learn
5. Assisting the teacher with students' general learning and development
The ideal candidate:
1. A strong understanding of special educational needs
2. A strong communicator, able to build a rapport with young people
3. Patient and empathetic
4. Reliable and committed to the school and students' improvement
5. Enthusiastic and engaging
6. Able to work alongside the teacher and independently
7. Certifications and attendance to training courses for SEN are beneficial, as well as firsthand experience with SEN
