About The Role The Head of Academy Recruitment will be responsible for the recruitment of players to Forest Green Rovers FC Academy, identifying and recruiting players with the potential to move through the Academy pathway. What you will do Be the first point of contact to teams, coaches, parents around player availability and trial opportunities. Build links and relationships with local grassroots teams and Talent Centre’s. Ensure that all trialist paperwork and documents are in place before any participation in training and fixtures takes place. Liaise with Lead Phase Coaches to support recruitment through midweek fixtures. Liaise with Lead Phase Coaches around recruitment requirements for their respective phase and age groups. Be active with parent engagement of all trialists and give them a welcoming start to FGR Academy. Follow EPPP guidelines relating to catchment area, and ways of approaching opposition teams and parents when highlighting potential trialists. Build a relationship with FGR Community Department to ensure that players from local schools have an opportunity to trial at FGR Academy. Liaise with MDT around 'Depth Charts' and support the coaching staff when making decisions around retain/release. Provide written feedback to be delivered during mid-trial reviews and end of trial reviews for all trialists whether successful or not. Gain knowledge and understanding of FGR's current academy players. Support the Pre-Academy Lead with recruitment and help identify players to sign with FGR Academy. This is a part-time position based on a 15-hour work week, with some flexibility required. About You The Head of Academy Recruitment needs to be able to build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professional image when representing Forest Green Rovers FC. They need to be empathetic to young players, possess exceptional organisation and communication skills, be a highly motivated and driven individual, with a desire to succeed demonstrating creative thinking within the role. Knowledge, skills, and experience: Essential UEFA B Licence or higher FA Talent ID Level 2 Comprehensive understanding of the academy audit process and FIP systems Experience of scouting and talent identification processes and procedures Enhanced DBS clearance FA safeguarding qualification BFAS/EFAiF qualification Desirable FA Advanced Youth Award FA Talent ID Level 3 Minibus Licence Experience of working within a professional football academy Knowledge of the local football landscape About Us Founded in 1889, Forest Green Rovers is a football club with a rich history, but we are always working to be at the forefront of something new.
