Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Housing Options Officer to work with Rugby Borough Council on a temporary assignment which is initially three months in duration with potential extension. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week (Mon – Fri) on a remote basis.
The incoming Housing Options Officer is responsible for a caseload of asylum seekers’ applications for accommodation, managing complex cases, conducting reviews, and providing high-quality housing advice to vulnerable individuals.
Main Duties:
1. Assess and review housing options for individuals seeking asylum and vulnerable residents, ensuring all recommendations are in line with council policies and regulations.
2. Handle complex cases, providing clear guidance on housing rights, homelessness prevention, and support pathways.
3. Conduct thorough reviews of decisions made within the housing options service, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
4. Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to offer comprehensive support and solutions.
Essential Criteria:
1. Proven experience in housing options, homelessness prevention, or asylum support services.
2. Strong understanding of relevant housing legislation, particularly in relation to asylum and immigration.
3. Excellent case management skills with the ability to handle sensitive and complex cases.
4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality service.
