Abingdon School Enterprises Limited (trading as Abingdon Sports and Leisure ASE) plays a pivotal role in supporting the school both operationally and commercially through management of the Foundation's sport and leisure facilities including the Sports Centre, Tilsley Park, and Amey Theatre.
Duty Manager - The Role:
We are looking for two enthusiastic, motivated, and adaptable Duty Managers to join our team and help manage the day-to-day operations of Abingdon Sports Centre and Tilsley Park.
Duty Manager - Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a wide range of duties, including customer liaison and lifeguarding (Sports Centre only)
- Assist with school activities, external bookings at both sites, and provide general administrative support
- Deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate strong administrative skills, with a good level of IT proficiency
- Work collaboratively as part of a team on a shift pattern, which includes some evening and weekend work
Duty Manager - About You:
- Previous experience in customer service or facility management is essential
- A proactive, adaptable, and can-do attitude, with the ability to work under pressure and take initiative
- Friendly and professional, with outstanding customer service skills and a positive approach to problem-solving
- Strong IT skills and a keen eye for detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop, with a willingness to attend training and gain relevant qualifications
- Committed to safeguarding children and young people
- Able to understand and meet the needs of diverse customers, especially children and young people
- Previous experience in the sports or leisure industry is desirable but not essential
