Job summaryWe are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dynamic person to join our team. They will be required to work closely with the vascular surgeons, vascular and lymphoedema clinical nurse specialists, vascular scientists/ sonographers, and our administrative team. We work as a multidisciplinary team that caters to both inpatients and outpatients with a high patient turnover. The successful candidate will support the smooth day to day running of both consultant and nurse-led clinics as well as vascular sonographer/ scientist scan lists, therefore a level of multi-tasking will be required. We will encourage autonomy in the management of the running of clinics, which includes patient transfers and stock control. We are a supportive team who will encourage and help with education within this specialty.Main duties of the jobWork autonomously to organise clinics, which includes the smooth transfer of patients from bed / wheelchair to examination / scanning couch, independently - manual handling mandatory training will be provided. Preparing clinic areas, including dressings trolleys and scan rooms, keep stock replenished, maintained, and organise any necessary repairs. To act as link contact as agreed with manager and take responsibility for the relevant duties incumbent to this position. Assist doctors and other team members with investigations and procedures, during patient consultations, this may include chaperoning. Learn and perform new procedures and tests for example: ABPI, use of intermittent compression pump for lymphoedema patients, removal of leg ulcer bandaging and application of simple dressings and non-compression bandages. Assist patients with dressing and undressing for examination, support and observe them during and after tests/treatment. Recognise clinical emergencies and summon appropriate assistance. To carry out observations such as pulse, blood pressure, respiration rate, weight, height, and blood glucose. To recognise and report any abnormalities to qualified staff using NEWS scoring.
