As part of this role you will enter an approved Water Industry Apprenticeship, working alongside people with years of solid experience who will give the best onboard training, helping to mentor and teach you to learn the tools and techniques you need to build a rewarding career in the water industry.
The Role:
You’ll be working alongside and will be trained by an experienced team of Customer Service Technicians that manages the operation of Affinity Water’s below ground network, ensuring that networks are stewarded, customers are served, and water quality is preserved at all times.
You’ll play a key role in serving our customers, providing a quality customer experience that meets customers’ expectations every time. You’ll investigate, advise and report on enquiries within prescribed timescales, keeping customers informed throughout their journey with us. You’ll also help to preserve our water quality by ensuring all works are delivered within regulatory and company standards.
You’ll also help to steward our networks, planning and executing network isolations to facilitate planned and reactive works, investigating reports of visible leakage and completing Network MOTs to assure the accessibility and operability of our assets.
As you build your expertise, you’ll ensure Affinity Water is able to make well-informed, efficient and cost-effective decisions on the operation, repair and maintenance of the network.
Included in this position is standby - 1 in 6. The payment for standby will be given as an additional payment on top of base salary.
What you’ll need:
* A good understanding of the water network design and operation, and be ready to apply this knowledge to ensure the organisation meets its regulatory requirements and performance commitments.
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach, always striving to go the extra mile for your customers.
* A full/Clean manual UK driving licence to travel between sites and offices.
Recruitment Process:

The Talent Acquisition Partner managing this position will be in touch once the advert has closed to inform you if you are unsuccessful or successful at the shortlisting stage.
* Interview process: 1 stage which will consist of behavioural and technical competency-based questions as well as a practical scenario.
Apprenticeship Salary:
* Starting Basic Salary: £20,162 + full flexibility allowance £4,728 = £24,890.
* 8 months into apprenticeship: With Manager approval on apprenticeship progress, salary will increase to £27,890.
* 14 months into apprenticeship: With Manager approval on apprenticeship progress, salary will increase to £29,890.
* 20 months into apprenticeship: With Manager approval on apprenticeship progress, salary will increase to £31,890.
On successful completion of apprenticeship and manager approval, salary will increase to 90% of the Customer Service Technician salary which will be £34,965 + flex (£4,728) = £39,693.
The progress will continue to be monitored by the Hiring manager over a 12 month period which if successful will then increase the salary to 100%.
* Basic Salary: £38,855 + Flex Allowance: £4,728
* Stand-by: 1 in 6 = £5,512 (additional payment separate to salary paid)
Total package: £49,095
