Teaching Assistant, you will assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all students. Your role will include providing one-to-one support, working with small groups, and helping with general classroom duties. You will play a key role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development, ensuring they have the tools and encouragement they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities for a Teaching Assistant:
1. Support the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
2. Assist individual students and small groups with their learning, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and other subjects
3. Provide tailored support for students with additional learning needs, as required
4. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
5. Help with the preparation of classroom resources and materials
6. Support with classroom behaviour management, promoting a calm and respectful atmosphere
7. Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to the teacher
8. Help with general classroom duties, including setting up, tidying, and supervising break times
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting
2. A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
5. Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Knowledge of the primary curriculum and KS2 expectations
7. An enhanced child workforce only DBS (or willing to obtain one)
