* 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year - Permanent
* Salary: GBP26,409 - GBP28,624 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
* Actual Salary: GBP22,418 - GBP24,298 per annum
We are seeking a safeguarding professional who is skilled in recognising and referring any safeguarding issues to the relevant service as needed. This role will involve liaising with the police or social services in relation to making a referral or providing support for the interviewing of students where a referral has been made.
Candidates need to be able to understand contextualised safeguarding issues and take this information into account when making referrals. In addition, candidates will need to monitor Children in Care, Young Adult Carers or students with mental health conditions working with school staff so that risks are well known. The role requires excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills. In this role you will liaise with teachers, parents, and managers, coordinating resources to address safeguarding, PREVENT, and student welfare issues, including housing and financial advice.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of SEND, SEMH and an understanding of safeguarding procedures. Key responsibilities include conducting one-on-one sessions, attending reviews for students with EHCPs, managing student behaviour, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. You will also work with vulnerable groups, monitor attendance, and refer safeguarding concerns as necessary, contributing to a supportive environment where students can thrive.
