We’re seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team.
Redgate’s software transforms the way teams across the globe deliver their software. Our products solve database problems across the development lifecycle, from development to deployment, all whilst ensuring performance and security.
Redgate’s Lead Software Engineers are responsible for improving how Redgate builds and maintains software, alongside actively contributing to product development. You’ll grow the skills of your team members through mentoring, coaching, or teaching, and you’ll be responsible for the quality of engineering practices within the team.
You’ll be part of a cross-functional team involved at every stage of the product lifecycle, from early-stage research to deployment, operations, and beyond. Redgate teams are highly collaborative, take ownership of the product and roadmap, and focus on balancing customer needs and market opportunities while building simple, effective software.
Redgate’s technology is rapidly evolving, transitioning from desktop heritage to server-based tooling and cloud-native solutions. We primarily use modern C# and React, and are moving towards a cloud-native future.
We face exciting technical challenges as we expand our database offerings, including developing tools compatible with multiple RDBMS, architecting systems for cloud and local environments, and transitioning from Windows-based software to platform-neutral solutions.
What skills and behaviors make you an excellent Lead Software Engineer?
* Excellent skills in a modern object-oriented language such as C#, Java, TypeScript, or Go.
* Willingness to learn new skills and technologies with support from us.
* Ability to develop others through pairing, coaching, and mentoring.
* Strong opinions but open to change based on new evidence.
* Preference for demonstrating solutions over just explaining them.

* A salary range of £70,000 to £90,000 depending on experience.
