Working hours: 40 hours per week Interview Date: To be confirmed Job Summary: Darbyshire House is a Lifehouse accommodating 45 adults 18 years and over who are currently or at risk of homelessness. Our aim is to support people by providing a settled period of accommodation during which time staff can help them to develop both personally and professionally to enable them to live independently in the community. We are looking to recruit an Early Intervention Worker who is motivated and able to assist with delivering a high-quality programme of support which promotes client choice and control. Overall Purpose: The Early Intervention Worker post is an organic and inspirational role that has been developed to enhance engagement from the referral point into the service with the aim of ensuring that a new resident feels safe and familiar in their new home. This scheme aims to safeguard a person’s wellbeing from the point of referral to the allocation of a keyworker and beyond. It is hoped throughout this period that the resident feels a sense of comfort, feels socially accepted, has a sense of dignity and belonging within the centre immediately. Essentially the Early Intervention Worker will improve the resident induction experience into the centre and to provide an initial point of contact. This will inevitably help to prevent potential feelings of isolation during the settling in phase, or further down the line.
