SUMMARY
Full responsibility and leadership for all Defence contracts. The Project Manager is to provide the critical link between client, Project Team, supply chain and Pre-con team to ensure that all defence projects are delivered to programme whilst achieving all deliverables. Ownership of the defence projects is key.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Interact with colleagues, customers and supply chain, maintaining a polite and helpful approach with all.
* Deliver best practice in relation to the management of the defence process.
* Ensure all members of the project team deliver.
* Ensure design management is controlled and delivered to project programme.
* Be proactive in the management of change.
* Manage supply chain and develop strong relationships.
* Ability to liaise and manage both the internal and external project teams.
* Successfully hit all deliverables.
* Complete supply chain reviews where applicable.
* Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of company and defence information.
* In all actions be a positive and helpful ambassador for the company, giving others confidence in Obedair.
* Be prepared to take additional responsibility, where you see it is necessary, to support the team or the office staff in general.
* Offer ideas for improving the service you offer or the processes for which you are responsible.
* Ensure Health & Safety is a top priority.
* Understand and manage the Babcock process.
* Chair and coordinate stakeholder meetings.
* Keep up to date with industry changes and legislation that will affect delivery.
* Provide regular feedback to the other members of the team.
* Chair and deliver review meetings.
* Support philosophy of safety, delivery and sustainability culture.
* Performance manage all members of the team.
* Provide Leadership to the management and delivery of all projects.
* Obtain and maintain great client relationships.
* Have understanding and delivery of all systems and processes.
* Attend CPD events where applicable.
* Line manage defence team.
OTHER
* Ability to complete and obtain any security clearances for sectors we operate.
* Ability to complete and obtain any advanced DBS certificate.
* Hold a valid UK driving licence.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Ability to interpret procedures and policies.
* High level of construction knowledge in all aspects.
* Ability to deal effectively and collaboratively with people and communicate effectively.
* Ability and track record of project managing large projects.
* Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team and follow oral and written instruction.
* Successful track record of project delivery.
* Good writing, analytical and problem‐solving skills.
* Ability to handle a wide variety of situations and problems.
* Experience and knowledge of the NEC contract and all options.
* Highly computer literate in all Microsoft office applications (for example Word, Outlook, Excel).
* Experience of managing and maintaining project management software.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong inter-personal skills.
* Experience of managing external stakeholders and liaising with suppliers.
* Ability to write clear, concise minutes and reports.
* Experience of working within a team and/or prioritising own workload.
* Excellent time keeping, reliability and personal organisation skills.
