SEMH Teaching Assistant – Role/ Key responsibilities
– 1 to 1 SEMH support for learners outside the classroom
– SEMH intervention. Focusing on social skills and emotional and mental health
– Monitor and record progress and provide feedback to teachers, SENCOs and parents
– Commitment to safeguarding protocols
– Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs
– Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and adaptability in teaching methods
– Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment
– Aid in educational development
– Ability to identify issues in pupils learning
– Work closely with class teachers to implement individual education plans and adapt lessons to meet student needs
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Essential requirements
– SEND experience
– Previous work experience in a school
– A caring and patient approach with strong communication skills
– Knowledge of strategies for supporting children with a range of learning difficulties
– Right to work in the UK
– Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to get one
