BMS requires an experienced Buyer/Purchasing Plant Coordinator for our Client based in the Newcastle area.

Role Information
The Plant Coordinator will:
1. Integrate successfully with the existing business, relevant departments, and staff.
2. Foster excellent relations with clients, staff, and suppliers.
3. Provide quality services.
4. Bring new ideas to the business to enhance the Merit brand and awareness of our Client's services.
5. Have the capacity to deliver a diversity of requirements within a working day.
6. Have a flexible approach to workload.
7. Demonstrate good Microsoft Excel skills.
8. Hold a clean and current driving license.
9. Be prepared to travel throughout the UK.
Purpose and Objectives
Provide the enthusiasm and energy to ensure that our Client successfully fulfills its objectives and long-term strategy. The key objectives of the role are to:
1. Be responsible for the day-to-day management of all plant in the company.
2. Establish close working relationships with site teams, clients, consultants, and suppliers.
3. Provide accurate reporting in line with company requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
The role is focused on achieving results in a consistent manner to a defined quality. Specific duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Manage the control of all plant across our Client in the most cost-effective manner in line with business needs.
2. Provide analysis, planning, scheduling, and coordination of plant movement within the business and maintain records for the purchasing department.
3. Conduct cost-saving analysis at the beginning of a contract to decide which supply options would be best suited.
4. Consolidate records for owned plant within the company and keep accurate records including service/calibration records where necessary.
5. Maintain all plant in a timely manner to ensure all planned maintenance and calibrations are carried out on schedule.
6. Monitor ongoing costs on a week-to-week basis for plant out on hire to achieve the most cost-effective procurement.
7. Ensure we are processing plant in the most cost-effective method in line with all.
Personal Qualities & Experience
1. Construction-related background working for principal contractors.
2. Experience of plant hire/off hire is essential.
3. Experience working in a busy and fast-paced environment.
4. Previous experience working for a multi-site organisation.
5. Strong communication skills.
6. Ideally, the candidate will have a construction background.
7. Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
8. Experience in a similar role.
