Working hours: 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends Interview date: To be confirmed Contract : Permanent T he Role Centenary House is a large, pet friendly, residential Life House in Belfast, accommodating vulnerable males over 18 years of age, who are experiencing homelessness. We have a great opportunity for a Support Worker Day position. Our Support Workers are responsible for developing and delivering a high-quality programme of support which promotes client choice and control. Our support workers identify & address client support needs, enable them to achieve positive life changes and ultimately empower them to lead more sustainable lifestyles while working as part of a team to achieve contractual and quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular client support plan reviews, completing and updating individual support plans; within contractual timeframes and work with clients to achieve their identified goals in accordance with The Salvation Army policy. Work with colleagues to design and deliver a range of in-house support provisions designed to achieve successful outcomes. Complete and review client’s assessments including risk assessments, within contractual timeframes, using a person-centred and trauma sensitive approach. Support successful transitions for prison leavers back into the community. The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate: Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by people experiencing homelessness. Ability to work in a busy environment and can demonstrate ability to make decisions under pressure. Knowledge of the benefits system and an understanding local housing legislation and how to advocate and maximise housing points. Ability to use your initiative in problem solving for the benefit of clients and colleagues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in harm reduction and support people in active addiction. Ability to work alongside the Criminal justice department. NISCC registration is also required for the post.
