Position: Office Administrator Salary Range: Grade C, Scale Point 7-11, £26,219 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Aylesbury Town Council, Town Hall, 5 Church Street, Aylesbury, HP20 2QP Role Overview Aylesbury Town Council is looking for an experienced Office Administrator to support the smooth running of the council's day-to-day operations. This role offers a great opportunity to work in a dynamic office environment, providing essential administrative support to ensure the efficient coordination of various council activities and services. As a key member of the team, you will manage office tasks, maintain records, and assist with communication between departments and the public, contributing to the effective functioning of the council. About the Role Join our team as an Office Administrator and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Town Hall. In this dynamic position, you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors and handle general public queries, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment. You will manage incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate departments, and oversee the daily administration of mail, including special deliveries. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for maintaining office supplies, organizing the post room, and assisting with the distribution of Council Committee papers. Your role will also include managing room bookings and providing backup support for the Mayoral Office. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the efficient functioning of the Town Hall while engaging with various departments and members of the community. About you We would love to hear from you if you have the skills, capability, knowledge or track record in: Effectively managing incoming telephone calls, directing them to the appropriate staff or external organisations, and overseeing smooth communication processes. Organizing and maintaining administrative tasks such as daily mail management, office supply orders, and the upkeep of the post room. Supporting the efficient running of a busy office environment, including room bookings and assisting with the distribution of Council documents. Collaborating with various departments, providing ad-hoc support to projects, and ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Displaying strong attention to detail, maintaining records and filing systems, and managing assets across departments.
