Responsibilities:
* Responsible for sales and tendering of the entire product and services for Transformers in the UK.
* Maximize Hitachi Energy’s market potential and opportunity.
* Visit potential clients to secure business, agreeing scope of works, preparing costings, and ensuring continual update of Hitachi Energy’s sales and marketing tools with visit reports and opportunities.
* Interface with the Market Manager, Product Marketing Manager, Tendering, Operations, and our Technical support teams to ensure it fits within the business capabilities and maximizes opportunities to better clients’ expectations.
* Support the Transformer Product Market Manager in the implementation of the sales and marketing strategy.
* Oversee allocated sales and tendering activities to drive sales and increase market share.
About the role:
* Be part of the team to drive Transformer Business on the market through sales and tendering.
* Implement the local product marketing strategy by visiting potential clients to present offerings, agreeing client requirements, product value propositions, and tendering of defined scope.
* Involved in market analyses with the Transformer Sales team, responsible for forecasts and detailed business/marketing plans for allocated areas of the portfolio.
* Achieve business targets through regular review of sales and tendering activities and implementation of improvement/focus plans as needed.
* Work with the Transformer Product Market Manager and Country Sales to develop new customers and market segments and ensure profitable increase of local volume.
* Undertake tendering activities to support the business, ensuring involvement of the overall team for cost-effective offerings to meet client expectations.
* Understand Customer Service principles and their effect on the business.
* Strengthen customer relationships through sales visits, market communications, and local account management. Ensure sustainable growth targets are achieved.
* Ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Safety Procedures, and Accountancy Policies and approval procedures.
* Live core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Your background:
* A Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering or similar preferred.
* 2 years of experience in Sales and/or tendering in a Power Engineering industry, preferably with a focus on service and after-sales.
* Experience and knowledge around Transformers within the power industry would be of great benefit.
* Passion for sales in a technical setting, with knowledge and experience of sales and marketing tools such as Sales Force/digital marketing tools – LinkedIn Sales Navigator/similar, are necessary.
* Result-driven candidate that can work both as an individual and as part of a team, with a strong ability to plan and execute plans.
* A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, with strong communication and customer-relationship-building skills.
* Prospecting, developing, and closing deals with customers.
* Willingness to travel and frequent interaction with customers, mainly within the allocated markets.
* Outgoing individual with the drive to focus on Customer contact.
* Ability to make an impact and influence change.
* Strong people and communication skills.
