Key Responsibilities As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, youll be responsible for managing mechanical packages on major projects from design through to handover. Youll work closely with the Project Manager, Design Consultants, Subcontractors, and the wider M&E team to ensure mechanical installations are delivered to spec, on time, and to a high standard. Your role will include: Reviewing designs and technical drawings to ensure compliance and buildability Managing procurement of mechanical equipment and materials Liaising with suppliers, consultants, and subcontractors Supporting the site team with technical guidance and coordination Monitoring quality, health and safety, and programme milestones Attending client meetings and representing the business professionally on-site Producing technical submissions, RAMS, and progress reports Youll be working on large, technically demanding schemes, often within secure or sensitive environmentsthe kind where attention to detail really matters. Skills & Experience Required This role calls for someone who understands the mechanical side of things inside out, but also knows how to work with people. You need to be just as comfortable on site as you are reviewing design details. Heres what will help you succeed: Experience delivering mechanical packages on commercial or public sector projects Strong technical background in mechanical building services (HVAC, LTHW, domestic water etc.) Knowledge of current regulations and industry standards Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and work collaboratively Experience working with consultants and subcontractors A proactive approach with strong organisational skills Youll ideally have a relevant mechanical or building services qualification (HNC, HND, degree or equivalent), as well as experience working on projects of £5m in value.
