Job Description EdNet: The Education Network is the North West's leading provider of 1-1 Tutors for students not accessing full time education for a variety of reasons. We have been supporting schools & local education authorities for around 15 years & we have a high demand for 1-1 Tutors who can teach core subjects; KS3 - KS5 Maths, Science or English in person throughout the school day from 10am usually up to 2.30/3pm at local libraries, or sometimes school. (Teaching of all core subjects at all key stages, not essential) This role suits Tutors who are seeking a full or part-time timetable-possibly to work around another job, childcare, studies or simply just because you prefer to teach on a 1-1 basis. Sessions are usually 1-2 hrs per student & we are able to offer you as little or as many hours as you wish to suit your lifestyle. Feedback from a new Tutor/school/parent that we support:- 1. "I just wanted to send a quick message to thank you all for your help and support since I joined The Education Network as a Tutor - you have all been fantastic and made moving over from full time work to agency work easy for me & can't believe how quick you have booked me up with students. I hope you all have a good summer and I look forward to working with you again in September. Once again thanks for all of your help and support. It is massively appreciated." 2. "As my YR11's student here leave today I wanted to say a huge thank you to The Education Network & your Tutors for all your hard work & support this year. The way you have managed to arrange 1:1 tuition at a minutes notice has been phenomenal & you have always been so supportive." 3. "I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to send a little thank you note to all of you before X's tuition comes to an end this Friday. I want you to know that you all have played an extremely important role to help X when she was going through a very difficult time in her life. Your support and appreciation has helped boost her confidence and brought back smile on her face. She has loved every minute of her tuitions and will miss all of you when it come to an end. I want all of you to know you have meant a lot to X and you all must be extremely proud of yourself for holding X's hand and walking with her when she was in need." This can be a very rewarding role, yet challenging at times. Many of the young people we support on a 1-1 basis have mild, moderate & sometimes severe learning difficulties and/or SEMH issues. Many are dis-engaged, having not attended school for some time and as such can display challenging behaviour, or may have certain emotional barriers to learning. As a result, we are seeking resilient Tutors with a background in working hard to re-engage students back into education, who have lots of patience & understanding.
