Job summary Our friendly District Nursing team in Dorchester are looking for a Band 5 Community Staff Nurse to join their team. Applicants can be newly qualified, or experienced, as full training, and support will be offered. We are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals who wish to provide a high standard of nursing care to people in their own homes. The successful individual must be able to drive and have access to a car. Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check. Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position. Main duties of the job The role includes, wound care, palliative care, IV drug administration, medication/ injection administration, diabetes management and many other diverse skills. We have both full and part time vacancies available. There will be an expectation for the successful candidates to work weekends, late shifts and bank holidays pro rata. Our late shift covers until 8pm. With excellent links to local universities, the training and development we are able to offer is first class, allowing rapid upskilling and support with new skills. Newly qualified staff will have access to a preceptorship program and a specific clinical upskilling program to support their transition from student to RGN.
