It aims to engage with and understand of students’ lived experiences, along with structural barriers encountered. Discussions will be confidential and only the outputs of the listening sessions (anti-racism toolkit) will be disseminated to a wider audience. Role Summary We are seeking to recruit 8 law students - who identify from marginalised backgrounds due to any factors, or have experienced a sense of alienation throughout their education - for 30 hours, in order to establish a student-working group, who will work closely with the Awarding Gap Lead at Birmingham Law School to co-create an anti-racism toolkit. Main Duties Attending and taking part in activities and discussions for three 2-hour listening sessions (in person or online) that will take place on February 12 th, February 26th, and March 12 th 2025. These listening sessions will enable an understanding of different experiences in the classroom and higher education. Attend one online catch-up meeting. Work in groups and attend group meetings. Produce an anti-racism tool kit with the guidance of the Awarding Gap Lead. There will be an opportunity to present your work to a wider audience in a town-hall event on race and racism in HE, as part of UOB Xtra period (June 2025). Person Specification Must be a current undergraduate student in Birmingham Law School.
