Location: We are currently looking to recruit Industrial Electricians to work within our maintenance department of our Bioresources business area, at Yorkshire Water. We are looking to recruit across the Yorkshire region; this is a mobile worker position, and your home location will determine the area of Yorkshire that you will be covering.
Work type: Permanent. You’ll be working 37 hours per week. Out of hours, weekend working, and bank holidays will be worked as part of a structured stand-by rota. Once fully trained, you will be assessed for working on your own and will be required to participate in an out of hours standby rota which will include evenings, weekends, and overnight callouts, therefore you will need to be flexible outside of core hours.
What we do: We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, ensuring clean and safe drinking water and efficient wastewater management.
As an Industrial Electrician, you will undertake maintenance of Yorkshire Water's Electrical and Mechanical assets across Energy & Recycling sites. This includes mobile working as part of a Maintenance Team to deliver Planned & Reactive maintenance and responding to emergency calls both in and out of hours (on call-out rota).
Where you fit in: You will be required to work unsupervised in remote geographic locations and be accountable for the completion of planned and reactive electrical tasks within agreed timescales, quality, and cost parameters.
Your responsibilities will include managing and prioritising your own workload effectively, building and maintaining relationships with operational customers, colleagues, suppliers, and contract partners, adhering to Health and Safety policies, supervising approved Contract Partners, and assisting in the development and training of apprentices.
What skills, experience & qualifications you will need:
* It is essential that you hold a recognised Electrical Craft/Technician Apprenticeship and either a City & Guilds/ ONC/ BTEC/ NVQ/ HNC/ HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Eng Tech.
* You will need a full valid driving licence (with no more than six points) as you will be visiting sites across the Yorkshire Region.
It is desirable that you hold the following qualifications:
* IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (City and Guilds 2382-18)
* CompEx 1 – 4
* HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering
It is a mandatory requirement that you can demonstrate experience and knowledge in:
* Safe isolation to the current IET regulations
* As a time-served industrial electrician
* Fault finding on control circuits up to the PLC.
* IT literate e.g., MS office
* Ability to produce maintenance reports.
* Experience of fault finding with industrial motors and starters
* Experience fault finding with industrial 3 phase systems.
* Experience working with rotating equipment.
* Experience of fault finding on LV control circuits.
Ideally, you will have previous experience gained as an industrial electrician within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process, or manufacturing industry sectors. You will have a proven track record of maintaining and repairing 3 phase rotating machinery and associated control systems.
