About the Role
An exciting opportunity has opened for a Deputy Home Manager at a state-of-the-art luxury nursing home in Maldon, Essex. We’re looking for a compassionate, experienced Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with an active NMC pin who is ready to take on a leadership role. This position is primarily nurse-based, with some supernumerary hours, and requires flexibility to meet the needs of the home.
Accountability:
You’ll report to the Home Manager and assume managerial responsibilities in their absence, fostering an environment that supports the dignity, rights, and independence of each resident.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supportive Leadership: Assist in the home’s overall management, promoting a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment.
* Policy Compliance: Uphold and contribute to the review of policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current care practices and regulatory standards.
* Resident-Centered Care: Facilitate resident engagement in care planning, ensuring that care practices align with their needs and wishes.
* Care Quality Management: Oversee the delivery of care in line with each resident’s care plan, with systems to assess and evaluate care needs.
* Team Collaboration: Promote effective communication among staff to ensure consistency and quality of care.
* Medication Administration: Supervise and ensure safe medication practices in accordance with NMC and home policies.
* Staff Development: Mentor and support junior staff, assisting in training and development to foster a skilled and motivated team.
* Resource Management: Ensure efficient use of resources and maintain stock levels.
* CQC & Quality Compliance: Assist with compliance of CQC standards and internal audits.
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualifications: Registered Nurse with active NMC pin and experience in similar roles.
* Experience: Knowledge and experience working with older adults and/or individuals with dementia in a residential setting, ideally in the independent care sector.
* Leadership Skills: Ability to supervise, mentor, and inspire a diverse care team, with excellent communication skills.
* Flexibility: Willingness to provide on-call support and adjust to the evolving needs of the home.
