RMS are thrilled to be recruiting on behalf of an exceptional fabrication company based in Darlington, offering an exciting new opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

3. Type: Permanent
4. Working Hours: Monday – Friday (Day Shift)
5. Salary: £45-55k per annum
About the Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for mitigating Commercial and Financial risks on projects via the Contract wherever possible and work with the Project Teams to evaluate, maintain and forecast accurate cost and value for designated elements of projects by means of measurement, estimation, calculation, administration, contract (and subcontract) interpretation and negotiation.
6. To identify, evaluate, process and agree variations with client and subcontractors.
7. To compile and process applications for payment with clients and subcontractors.
8. Produce project forecasts and end of life costs.
9. Financial awareness of project costs and forecasting of costs through to completion & assist and monitor the contract review process.
10. Represent the company at relevant meetings/discussions – internal / external
11. Assist the Project Teams to ensure the projects achieve (as a minimum) budgeted margins and manage project cash flow.
12. Ensure and maximise contract growth through the efficient cost management of the project and the variation to order process.
13. Oversee contractual correspondence with clients and subcontractors.
14. Identify cost trends, potential savings and commercial opportunities.
15. Ensure variations are administered in line with the contract.
16. Attend Bid Approval meetings at the pre-tender stage.
About You:
17. Bachelor or University degree, or comparable working level.
18. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience, preferably in the offshore/construction industry.
19. Strong affinity with both technical and commercial aspects.
20. Commercial Contract knowledge.
21. Excellent negotiation and networking skills.
22. Prepared to travel (if necessary, subject to reasonable notice and prior agreement).
