Job Description Brio Digital is partnered with a company in the financial services sector who are currently growing their mobile engineering function. We are looking for a senior Android developer to support them as they build their mobile retail banking application. Overview; Role; Senior Android developer Salary; £85,000-£100,000 Location; London (2x/week) Senior Android Developer Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain robust Android applications for the banking sector. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences. Implement and maintain secure, efficient, and scalable code using Kotlin or Java. Work with RESTful APIs to integrate with backend services. Ensure the quality and performance of applications through comprehensive testing and performance tuning. Automate and optimize the development process using CI/CD pipelines. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mobile development and banking applications. Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept to deployment. Senior Android Developer Experience: Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java. Strong knowledge of Android SDK and Android development tools. Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend services. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI. Understanding of secure coding practices, particularly in the context of financial applications. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Nice-to-Haves: Experience with modern Android architectures (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture). Familiarity with mobile app security frameworks and best practices. Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for Android (e.g., Espresso, JUnit).
