Our client, a leading organisation within the power utilities and energy sector, is seeking an experienced Appointed Person to join their team. This key position supports high voltage operations across power distribution and renewable energy projects, with a strong emphasis on lifting operations, temporary works coordination, and site safety. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring safe systems of work and the reliable delivery of critical infrastructure across the UK.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSafety leadership: Ensure all lifting operations are carried out safely and in line with National Grid, BS 7121, and wider industry safety standards\nPlanning and coordination: Develop, assess, and authorise lift plans, method statements, and risk assessments for complex or high-risk operations\nWork control: Manage safe systems of work, coordinating closely with site managers, crane supervisors, and contractors to avoid risk near live infrastructure\nTechnical assurance: Ensure lifting activities comply with technical standards and relevant legislation, including LOLER and the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations (ESQCR)\nStakeholder communication: Act as a central point of contact between National Grid, principal contractors, and stakeholders during planning and delivery\nCompliance and review: Conduct site audits, inspections, and reviews, ensuring accurate reporting of any non-conformances or incidentsJob Requirements:\n\nCPCS or NPORS Appointed Person Ticket (A61 or equivalent)\nExperience in managing lifting operations within high voltage environments (132kV-400kV preferred)\nBackground in temporary works coordination\nSound knowledge of power utilities, distribution networks, and renewables projects\nExcellent leadership and communication skills\nFlexibility to travel and work across sites throughout the UK\nCSCS card and SMSTS certificationBenefits:\n\nSalary up to £65,000 per annum\nMonday to Friday - 40 hours per week\nOvertime available with enhanced rates on weekends and Bank Holidays\nCompany vehicle or car allowance\n25 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays\nLodging and expenses fully covered - UK-wide travel\n5% matched pension contribution\nClear pathways for career progression and professional development\nSupportive and proactive working environmentIf you're an experienced Appointed Person looking to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.
